Senators question ICE leadership's commitment to enforce immigration laws

US SenateSeven United States Senators have penned a letter to DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, expressing concern about ICE Director John Morton's recent directive to dismiss deportation cases and release illegal aliens who have pending applications filed with US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The Senators point out that ICE has "prioritized" (or reclassified) their enforcement efforts to go after criminal aliens, but the Senators wonder why ICE hasn't requested increased funding to address the issues resulting in the re-prioritization that results releasing illegal aliens back into our communities.

This union would love to know the answers to these Senators' questions.
